2016 ACS Fall Event Honors Edward J. Dolan and Stephen L. Allsopp
October 27, 2016
On October 27 ACS honored Edward J. Dolan, Commissioner of the Massachusetts Probation Service, and Stephen L. Allsopp, Chief Probation Officer of Middlesex County Juvenile Court, at the ACS Fall Event held at the Union Club in Boston.
Edward J. Dolan was introduced by the Honorable Jay D. Blitzman, First Justice of the Middlesex Juvenile Court and last year’s honoree. Commissioner Dolan was appointed Commissioner of the Massachusetts Probation Service in June of 2013. He previously served as Commissioner of the Department of Youth Services (DYS), Chief Operating Officer at Massachusetts Half Way Houses, Inc., and as a Forensic Manager for the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health. Commissioner Dolan has also served as the Executive Director of the Massachusetts Parole Board.
Stephen L. Allsopp was also honored for his long time support of ACS. Chief Allsopp began his 35 year career in Probation as an intern at the Cambridge District Court. Appointed to Probation Officer in 1980, he was later promoted to Assistant Chief Probation Officer. He served as Acting Chief Probation Officer and then in 2005 was promoted to First Assistant Chief Probation Officer. For the past five years, Chief Allsopp has served as Chief of Juvenile Probation for Middlesex County.
Commissioner Dolan and Chief Allsopp are indispensable friends of ACS, and it was an honor to recognize their commitment and longstanding service.
