About Us

Adolescent Consultation Services supports and empowers court-involved children and families by providing mental health prevention and intervention services to help them move forward in a positive direction.

Adolescent Consultation Services was founded in 1973 in response to the specialized needs of children involved in the juvenile justice system, focusing on their undiagnosed learning needs. In 1998, ACS was awarded the contract administered by the Department of Mental Health (DMH) to provide Juvenile Court Clinic services throughout Middlesex County.

Today, ACS provides comprehensive diagnostic evaluations, treatment services, and advocacy for at-risk kids and their families. Private support enables ACS to offer Treatment and Education & Advocacy services at no cost to families.

Nurturing IDEAS

Inclusion, diversity, and equity are core values of Adolescent Consultation Services’ (ACS) mission, philosophy, and practice. The Nurturing IDEAS (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Awareness, & Social Justice) initiative at ACS is intended to explore the means by which ACS may incorporate these beliefs into our work and promote the goals of accepting, respecting, and valuing differences.

We appreciate and encourage ideas that come from a diverse work environment and want to infuse diversity of thought, experience, and expertise into our work. We believe that an inclusive work environment fosters an atmosphere that allows all individuals to attain their greatest potential and achieve the greatest benefits for our clients. We will be better advocates for the population we serve if we have a strategic, thoughtful focus on improving inclusivity, diversity, and equity within our staff, our organization, and all of our services.

The Nurturing IDEAS initiative will evolve and welcome new ideas and exchanges from all individuals regardless of, but not limited to, race, age, gender identity, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, religion, sexual orientation, ability, language, immigration status, family circumstances, and cultural backgrounds. This ensures that all ACS staff and clients know that their differences and similarities alike are celebrated and appreciated, and that their voices will be heard.
