Cyanea Y. S. Poon, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist who joined Adolescent Consultation Services in 2025. Dr. Poon is a graduate of the Clinical Psychology PhD Program at University of Massachusetts Boston and trained at McLean Hospital, Hasbro Children’s Hospital, Aspire Health Alliance, and South Shore Education Collaborative. Dr. Poon has also completed her postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology at Boston Children’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School. Across the different settings, Dr. Poon works closely with children, adolescents, and their families on diagnostic clarification and uses an integrative approach to treatment. She continues to bring her compassion and expertise in child psychology when conducting court-ordered evaluations with youth and their families at ACS.
Dr. Poon’s research primarily focuses on how support networks (parents/guardians, school, providers, communities) and systems affect developmental trajectories in trauma-exposed youth. She has partnered with local, national, and international organizations to understand how community-based interventions can decrease psychiatric symptoms and increase coping in youth. She has published peer-reviewed articles in journals such as Journal of Youth and Adolescence and American Journal of Community Psychology, and continues to provide presentations and workshops at academic conferences and community settings.
